Although most ovarian cysts are absolutely asymptomatic and a normal part of the menstrual cycle it is possible for infected cysts to develop. Most ovarian cysts are considered functional meaning that they are harmless and do not require treatment of any kind. They generally disappear within one to two menstrual cycles.

Infected cysts are one of several complications that can occasionally arise which need to be examined more closely. Just like any other cyst in or on the body, bacterial infection does occasionally occur. The trouble with an infected ovarian cyst is that it is difficult to identify, as it is internal.

Many women begin to suspect that they may be suffering from ovarian cysts when they start to encounter one or more of the following symptoms:

  • Dull or severe and sharp pain or discomfort in the abdomen, pelvic area, thighs and sometimes legs.
  • Fullness, pressure and or bloating in the stomach
  • Breast tenderness
  • Painful periods
  • Irregular bleeding and spotting
  • Lack of menstruation
  • Weight gain
  • Nausea and or vomiting
  • Rib pain
  • Headache

After a cyst is confirmed the woman's doctor will address the various medical treatments of cyst removal or control.

When the cyst does not resolve by itself then the doctor might also decide to remove the cyst through a surgical process. In some cases when it has been decided not to remove the cyst, or the patient does not realize that the cyst is the cause of the experienced symptoms, cysts can rupture. This is especially dangerous if the cyst is infected.

Infected cysts generally cause pain and occasionally fever. If you are prone to ovarian cysts and have these symptoms it is essential to seek medical treatment.

Effects of ruptured ovarian cyst include scaring, inflammation, peritonitis, ie inflammation of mucous membranes, septic shocks, hemorrhage, death of ovary among other symptoms. When an ovary ruptures, the infection is spread through the pelvic cavity can spread rapidly to other organs. This is a very dangerous scenario and should be avoided at all costs.

A ruptured cyst may be treated with strong antibiotics, and an internal "clean" may even be necessary. The best form of treatment for infected cysts is actually prevention. Just like a ruptured appendix, generally once the break has occurred damage has already started in the body.

By eliminating the conditions that the body requires to develop ovarian cysts one can virtually guarantee that this situation will never become a reality. Although medications and surgical removal of cysts do not guarantee that they will not return, there are natural methods that can be transported out on a day to day basis that will prevent cysts from ever occurring.

These methods have helped women prevent cysts themselves as well as completely avoid complications such as the rupture of infected cysts.

If you have not heard of it yet, one hour teeth whitening is the quickest method to use when you want to whiten your teeth. The procedure of whitening your teeth has to be in the dentist office because he needs to supervise the process of whitening your teeth. The process is kind of annoying and hurts a little bit, but, you know, after only 1 hour your teeth are white as snow.

How one hour teeth whitening process works?

Well, All You do is lying on the dentists scary chair as it moves back and forward (lol) and open your mouth for an hour. It can be very annoying, but, this is the process :-). Then a protective dam is applied by the dentist to protect your gums of the whitening gel.

After the dam is applied the dentist will put the peroxide gel on your teeth for something like an hour (Guess where the this system name came from). Now it is time to wait. You should wait an hour with your mouth open while the peroxide gel is doing the work of removing stains from your teeth and getting them to be white again. After an hour (or when the dentist says so) you can wash the gel out of your mouth.

Just one hour and the teeth are white

After you finished the process, you will probably run straight to the mirror to check out your "new white teeth". You will not believe what difference can an hour precess make to your teeth. They will look like snow, purely white.
The one hour whitening system is by far the fastest way to whiten your teeth but it is also the most expensive way. Luckily there are more ways to whiten your teeth.

A lot of people prefer not to use this system for a few reasons:
1. Going to the dentist can be the worst thing in the world for some people.
2. It is uncomfortable process and hurts a little.
3. It is the most expensive method for whitening your teeth.

Luckily, there are more methods for teeth whitening that works just fine. There are a lot of kinds of teeth whitening methods and systems today like Gel, Stripes and powder. all of them has their advantages and disadvantages, some are more expensive (not as the one hour method) and some takes more time to see results. But, if you do not want to go to the dentist, you should try to use the best teeth whitening system for you.

There are a lot of other methods to whiten your teeth. There are natural teeth whitening methods and a lot of products. If you do not want to go to the dentist just know that there are a lot of methods and solution for yellow teeth and stains in the teeth. You must have heard on products like Gel, Powder, stripes and a lot of other tooth whitening solutions that are available for every consumer today without the need of a prescription from the dentist.

Some people tend to go to a dentist and have a one hour teeth whitening because they know that all it should take an hour. I know a lot of people which prefer using the teeth whitening products that are available in any pharmacy because they are very easy to use and are much cheaper then the 1 hour teeth whitening procedure.

This article focuses on how the Karlovy Vary Healing Mineral Water helps treat pancreatic diseases. The properties of the Karlovy Vary Healing Mineral Water are completely unknown by the American public and medical professionals. Most North Americans tend to think of mineral water as something to drink either as a snack or with meals. Yet, Karlovy Vary Healing Mineral Water is not just something to drink when thirsty. This "magical" water contains healing properties for a variety of chronic disorders, as well as for health maintenance.

European doctors and scientists have used this water for centuries. 100 years ago, Karlovy Vary Water was the only possible way to treat diabetes, obesity, gout, stomach ulcers, pancreatic diseases and liver problems. Today it continues to serve as a very important complementary alternative therapy for healing these chronic disorders.

There is no other mineral supplement in the world like Karlovy Vary Healing Mineral Water. Research on this water began over 500 years ago. Since then, hundreds of clinical texts and articles have been published describing the positive effects of the water on both animals and humans.

Karlovy Vary water was found to be so beneficial that work was done to manufacture the salt from the evaporated thermal spring water. In 1764, an inexpensive method was discovered that made it possible to distribute the water through the world. Czech doctors determined that the water manufactured from the genuine Karlovy Vary thermal spring salt had identical healing properties as the spring.

To understand the healing action of this water on pancreatic diseases one needs to understand the pancreas structure and function.

The pancreas is an elongated and tapered gland that lies across the back of the abdomen behind the stomach in the loop of the duodenum. It secrete digestive enzymes into the duodenum and hormones, such as insulin, into the blood stream.

The pancreatic cells secretestimate enzymes into a net of ducts that meet to form the main pancreatic duct. This duct merges the common bile duct (which carries bile from the gallbladder) and liver to form a small cavity that opens into the duodenum. The opening has a muscle valve called the Sphinster of Oddi that controls secretions from the liver, pancreas, and gallbladder into the duodenum of the small intestine.

Spasms or valve blockages may cause a back up of the pancreatic fluids, thus, increasing the pancreatic duct pressure. Trapped inside, the pancreas digestive enzymes start to digest their own pancreatic cells causing congestion, inflammation, pain, cysts and finally death of the pancreatic tissue.

Pancreatitis may develop at first in acute and then in chronic conditions. Solid, difficult to eliminate bile, small and large gallbladder stones, inflammation and trauma of bile ducts during surgery can cause blockage of the Sphinster of Oddi.

Valve spasms can also occur due to stress, fatty meals, alcohol consumption and smoking.

The pH of the pancreatic fluid is alkaline due to the fact that the digestive enzymes become active only in an alkaline environment. Normally the pancreatic fluid contains a large amount of minerals and bicarbonates to keep the alkaline condition. When the pancreas is contained, inflamed or damaged, the fluids lose their alkalinity, thenby causing valve spasms and blockages.

Used for centuries by generations of Europeans, Karlovy Vary water made from the Genuine Karlovy Vary Thermal Spring Salt has been popular in Europe as a natural approach to Chronic Pancreatitis. Positive benefits of the Karlovy Vary water are thought about by a beneficial complex composition of potassium, sodium, magnesium, calcium, sulfates, bicarbonates, chlorides, and a lot of trace minerals such as zinc, cobalt, selenium, lithium, copper and more.

According to European doctors, the most important action of the water is to enhance production and flow of bile, open the Sphinster of Oddi and decrease pressure inside the pancreas. Further, the Karlovy Vary Healing Mineral Water supplies the pancreas with minerals and bicarbonates, the main ingredients of the pancreatic fluids. The water promotes the manufacture and release of digestive hormones in the duodenum and regulates the digestive process in the gastrointestinal tract and liver. The digestive hormones signal to the pancreas the amount of enzymes and bicarbonate that will be needed to digest protein, sugars, starches, and lipids arriving from the stomach into the duodenum.

Karlovy Vary water made from the Genuine Karlovy Vary Thermal Spring Salt is a safe and effective non-drug alternative remedy for chronic pancreatitis.

Dental implants provide an effective alternative to traditional dentures. The implants complex of a root structure supporting an upper covering resembling a real tooth.

The implants are made of sturdy and durable material like titanium or ceramic material in the shape of small screws. This apparatus is placed in the teeth socket often immediately after a tooth has been extracted. It ensures a higher success rate as compared to the process done after a few weeks or months after the tooth has been extracted. In some cases if there is a lack of bone tissue, bone grafting or augmentation is done to ensure the fittings have a strong and sufficient base to be affixed to.

Benefits of dental implants

Easy alignment and conformity with natural teeth: Dental implants look better as compared to partial dentures. While a casual observer may be able to discern that you are wearing dentures it is difficult to notice teeth implants.

Not only do they blend will with natural teeth but being anchored to the jawbone do not come off or get loose. This also helps retain the natural shape of the jawbone and avoid sagging of face muscles making you look younger.

Freedom from uncomfortable dentures: Your speech will not be affected as it happens in case of ill fitting denture nor would you have any problems while eating. You will not even feel the new fittings and can get on with your routine as before.

No need to get embarassed due to missing teeth: Dental implants are also very convenient unlike removable dentures. You do not have to worry about the dentures popping out while eating, talking or laughing. Also you need not spend time and money on adhesives or clasps which come with removable dentures.

Dental implants work almost as well as normal teeth: Often there are some restrictions on eating hard foods for people who wear dentures or crowns. However with teeth implants you can eat your favorite foods without any constraints. So go ahead and enjoy those crunchy nuts you have always wanted to eat.

A long term investment: Dental implants are a life long investment and you do not have to worry about extra expenses. The implants if done correctly will not require further attention like buying adhesives or visiting the dentist for adjustments.

Training and certification

Dentists usually need to be certified prior to offering dental implant treatment . In most countries oral surgeons or periodontists are specifically trained to perform all kinds of oral surgeries which include teeth implants. The training and certification is done by national dental association like for example the American Dental Association (CODA) in the US and General Dental Council (GDC) in the UK.

While teeth implant surgeries carry a success rate of over 90%, the procedure depends on the skill of the dentist and of course the oral hygiene followed by the patient. Stability is the most important aspect of a successful dental implant treatment.

Getting wisdom teeth removed entail a number of side effects that bring trauma to certain parts of the body. In fact, these side effects even cause concerned individuals to develop phobia. They begin to fear dentists, dental clinics and even the simplest of the dental procedures like teeth cleaning. Shared in this article are the varied consequences thought about by this procedure. This aims at guiding readers in having real expectations regarding the process.

Swelling – Swelling occurs in the affected area. It often lies for seven to ten days before the tenderness becomes completely gone.

Dry Socket – This is a common side effect of the procedure but is said to happen unexpectedly. It is characterized by intestinal pain after wisdom teeth removal. It lasts for two weeks or more. The pain passes away on its own and so this condition is known to have no treatment.

Persistent Pain – The area of the mouth where the surgery took place often do not respond to the intake of painkillers and antibiotics and other forms of treatment. Moreover, this kind of pain tends to stay forever with no promise of cure.

Numbness Or Altered Sensation – Some patients who have undergone this procedure report numbness in the areas of their cheeks. lips and tongue. Believed to be a temporary condition, this has no cure just like the case of having persistent pain. Getting wisdom teeth removed in the lower part of the mouth is assumed to be the cause of this.

Ulceration – Skin ulcers are open sores that happen in the area of the surgery. It is accompanied by the wearing away of inflated tissues. They appear in the spot where the wisdom teeth gets pulled out. Their condition may worsen due to stress. Sometimes, applying pressure to the area while it is numb causes ulceration too.

Loose Teeth – Teeth surrounding an extraction site have the tendency to loosen. This is because the teeth now have less bone holding them together unlike before. Another condition related to this is the fracturing of the associated teeth. Teeth with large fillings are the common victims of this because they are weak in nature. They may just immediately break or fall off anytime.

Oral-Antral Fistula – This is characterized by the coming out of the nose of the fluid when drinking. Once a hole in the upper jaw of the mouth is made, the hollow cavity in there called the sinus gets damaged. This hole becomes the pathway of the fluid taken in the mouth to come out of the nose. A surgery must be performed to close it.

Displacement – This is evident for the back teeth in the top area. In some cases, they get displaced to the sinus cavity of the top jaw. They may be left to stay there. But if they get infected, they have to be removed right away.

Fractured Jaw – A very rare event that results from getting wisdom teeth removed, fractured jaw bone happens to those who experience great trauma from the dental procedure.

The Glasgow Subway is the 3rd oldest underground rail network in the world, following London and Budapest, and this is a little introduction on what you'll be faced with when you get here.

As many may be aware already, it's known here as the 'Clockwork Orange' mainly because of the color of its older trains. The great thing about the Glasgow Subway is that it's extremely easy to follow, and that despite how dark and cavernous some of the stations might look, actually it's the most convenient, cheap and fastest way to get about the City Center & the West End of Glasgow.

Finding your way around the simple Glasgow Subway map is easy peasy! There's only two circles, an inner and an outer. At every station you'll find a big map of the Glasgow Subway, and all you need to do is pick one of the 15 stations that'll take you to near where you're going, look at which circle it's on, and jump the next train that's on that line.

Do not worry about this however. If you get confused and end up on the wrong line, bear in mind that it's just a circle. Every train takes about 24 minutes to get around the whole line. So if you go the wrong way it will not take you long to be taken back to where you want to go anyway. Now what other underground network elsewhere can do that for you?

Another great point about the Glasgow Subway is that price is not based on the length of your journey, and you'll see the very simple fare guide at each station. A good idea if you'll be here for a while is to pick up at any of the stations a Discovery Ticket. With this you'll be given a leaflet showing the best attractions, tourist info etc. that'll help you plan your day. The ticket allows you to travel unlimited round the Glasgow Subway if your journey starts after 9.30am. Alternately, you could also pick up a 10 or 20 journey pass or the season tickets.

The trains run very frequently throughout the day, and at night you'll find a bus service that runs until the morning, stopping at each station at the same frequency as the trains do during the day.

The Glasgow Subway is also pretty famous for the 'Glasgow Subcrawl', which is a favorite past-time for students, stag & hen do's and Christmas revellers. It involves the basic idea that you buy an unlimited ticket, and head round each of the 15 stations on the Subway, stopping at the closest bar at each station for a pint or other alcoholic drink, until you go full circle and end the night in a club to celebrate your success. Believe me when I say that it's a brilliant laugh – just do not assume you'll remember how you managed it!

So I hope this little guide introduces you to the Clockwork Orange. I go into it in a little more detail in my site, but would be happy to answer any questions you might have on traveling on it when you get to Glasgow.

Although colon cancer can be life-threatening, it is known as one of the curable forms of the disease if it is detected early. Thus, knowledge about colon cancer signs and symptoms can help prevent the disease from advancing and can help a patient minimize the pain and discomfort caused by its symptoms.

Colon Cancer Signs and Symptoms

• Abnormal bowel habits

• Diarrhea, constipation, or an alternating series of both

• The feeling that the bowel is not completely emptied

• Bloody stools

• Narrow stools

• General abdominal discomfort similar to gas pains, bloating, or cramps

• Unexplained and unintended weight loss

• Constant fatigue

• Vomiting

Some of these symptoms are not common so they usually cause patients to approach medical professionals. This helps raise the number of cases that get cured in time.

What to Do When Faced with these Symptoms?

If you experience any of these symptoms, it is best to approach a medical professional in the soonest possible time. Doing so will increase your chances of getting cured. When you approach a doctor with colon cancer signs and symptoms, he will rule out other possible causes of the symptoms first. To arrive at an accurate diagnosis, your doctor will record your medical history and ask you a lot of questions. You will also be asked to undergo a thorough physical examination as well as other tests such as Barium Enema or a lower gastrointestinal series and a colonoscopy. Both tests will give your doctors a closer look at your large intestines and colon to check for abnormalities.

If other possible causes are negative, then your doctor will then check for the presence of cancer cells. This is usually done through a biopsy, or the removal of a small amount of tissue from the colon so that the tissue can be examined for cancer cells.

What to Do When Diagnosed with Colon Cancer?

Once your doctor diagnoses your condition as cancer of the colon, he will provide you with possible treatment options that are most suitable for the degree or severity of your illness. The main types of treatments are surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or a combination of all three. You will also be given medication to manage colon cancer signs and symptoms. As your illness progresses, these symptoms will also progress in severity. Thus, this makes it even more important to get an early diagnosis of the disease so that treatment can be provided in a timely manner.

When caught early, this disease can be easily treated by the surgical removal of the cancerous growth in the colon. This approach, however, is only possible if the disease is still in its early stage. The surgery is done by inserting a tube through the rectum and into the colon and removing the tumor. If it is found in a polyp, the surgery will be called a polypectomy. If the cancer is in its advanced stages, however, surgical removal will not be enough to remove all of the affected cells, which will already have spread at this point. Thus, early detection, through colon cancer signs and symptoms, is crucial.
