Many people who own dentures wear them only when eating because of the pain

and discomfort experienced while wearing their dentures all day long.

I asked my dentist about this situation and he agreed that most people with

dentures have sore mouths. He continued by saying the reason for those sores is

almost always the result of chewing with dentures that are too loose. When the

wearer bites food, the denture moves. With repeated chewing the denture

continually rubs on one or more places in the mouth and eventually a very tender

sore spot is created. The only way to relieve the resulting pain is to remove the

denture. So, instead of wearing the denture at all times the wearer removes it and

puts it aside until it is needed again for (1) eating a meal or (2) meeting and chatting

with family and visitors.

Then I asked my dentist why most of the dentures are loose instead of being held

properly and securely in place, he explained that when natural teeth are removed

the gums where the teeth were begin to shrink. Most of this shrinkage happens

during the first six months or so after natural teeth are removed. So, what was once

a tight fitting denture before the shrinkage soon becomes a loose. uncomfortable

denture. The dentists‘ solve this problem by making a new mold of the inside of the

denture wearer’s mouth and then making a modification to the original denture so

that it fits as good as it did before the gradual shrinkage of the gums.

This procedure can require several visits to the dentists office and it can be quite

expensive. But, it does solve the problem – for awhile. The problem is that the

shrinkage continues and a year or two later the denture wearer must go back to the

dentist and repeat the re-lining of his denture and pay the dentist again.

Today, there is a new way to avoid all of the pain of ill-fittng, loose dentures as well

as the embarrassment of being caught with dentures in a pocket instead of in the

mouth as can happen when people unexpectedly drop in to visit

The simple, easy, low cost solution to all these problems is the use of a new (patent

pending) product called a Weber Denture Liner. This is a soft, flexible, putty-like

material that the denture wearer can use to line and build up the inside of the

denture. In this way the gaps caused by natural shrinkage of the gums are filled and

the denture fits the way it was originally intended to fit. With the liner in place

eating once again becomes a pleasure and dentures can be worn comfortably all day

long. The liner is available as a low cost do-it-yourself kit that anyone can use. So,

if you have been plagued with a sore mouth caused by poorly fitting dentures, you

owe it to yourself to at least try this new way to solve the problem and relieve the

pain in your mouth once and for all.

I've heard lots of woes from people trying to work with their Web site consultants this week. You know the type: they promise that your site is "just about finished" and the pages "just need some tweaking" and yet nothing gets done. I have had to suffer through whiney rants about delays, bad programming decisions, tools that malfunction, missing logins and content wrecks.

Have we reached the point where building a web site is a lot like building a new freeway? It takes far too many people, time, and dollars, upsets the people who have to live near it, and in the end is obsolete by the time the first people try to use it.

I remember the good ole days of the Web, say 12 years ago, when one person (like me) could build a site in an afternoon, without any really specialized tools or knowledge beyond knowing a few tags and reading a Laura Lemay book.

I am coming to the conclusion that we need to return to those simple days where one person can still build their site, without the heavy lifting of a Web Site Designer and a Web Programming Consultant and an Internet Search Specialist and a Web Marketing Person. (Capital letters deliberately intended to reflect the title's self-importance.)

At one site, a simple database was taking months to webify. I ended up talking to the site's graphic designer, who was the only one who had any project management skills and could reign in the wayward development staff. Said staff has trouble configuring something that my high school networking students could do in their sleep. Someone else was complaining to me that their copy of Dreamweaver had started behaving badly, and all I could do was recommend a clean uninstall of every Adobe product on her disk, short of buying a new computer. These are just a couple of the stories I could tell you this week alone.

So in the 15 or so years of the Web we have better tools, but they still suck. Better sites, but they are still annoying with pop-ups and dead-end links and overblown graphic frippery. Better site statistics, but still no insights into who comes where and why they leave our sites. Better traffic, but still a lot of mythology about how the search engines point our way. And speaking of search, why is it that we still can not do better there on deploying good internal site search algorithms?

There is a simple answer: rebel, resist, and reclaim the Web as your own personal place. Avoid the consultantization of the Web. Fire your designers and programmers.

Start afresh with a blogging tool like WordPress or Blogger and build your site around that. Or pick up a couple of widgets and components, or use dabbleDB or Pageflakes or stuff from Google or Yahoo. You do not need a passel of programmers to work this Web.

Since moving over to WordPress and posting these simultaneous to the blog and my email listserv, I have noticed that I do not do any site maintenance over on good ole 'strom.com anymore. Why bother? The old archive of prehistoric articles is still there, and maybe even a few of the links still get people to the original places. A few pages are in the top ten category on Google, not through any doctrine or planning of my own, and I am grateful for that traffic.

As Thoreau said, simplify. Part of being all Web 2.0 is never having to hear the sorry tales of your programmers that are behind schedule, over budget, and full of excuses why the dog ate their APIs. Forget about them, and build a simple, quick site that can deliver some value the same day you start the project.

Have you ever met someone that right from the start you hit it off with? The interaction just flowed and you were not doing anything but being who you are. You laughed, smoked, told jokes, told stories and for just a fleeting moment you thought, "Wow this person is so cool." In that moment you are experiencing something so diverse and mystical that scientists have devoted their lives to providing exists. What is that thing? It's chemistry ….

In its simplest definition, chemistry is the interaction of one personality with another. In science when two chemicals interact we know that it can have an explosive results and the same is true when it comes to dating. Before we explore what dating chemistry is we must understand what it is not.

Chemistry is NOT just attraction …

Attraction is something you can generate in another person by banter, role-play, fun, touching and other playful activities. Chemistry is not something you do to another person it is something you have with them. In attraction you are doing actions and generating a feeling from the person, with chemistry you are not "doing" anything but you build a connection. you are trying to generate attraction you are doing actions that cause an emotional reaction in the other person.

Attraction is about doing, chemistry is about being …

Attraction is something you can generate in most people you meet; chemistry is something you find in a very rare amount of people. Just because you have similar personalities and get along does not mean you found "the one." Since we understand the differences between attraction and chemistry we should break down the types of chemistry people can have.

The way I see it, there are two types of chemistry, Personal and Sexual.

Personal Chemistry is all about your personalities. Do you have similar personality traits and commonalities? Personal chemistry is finding a person who you connect with based on who you are to the core. Personal chemistry is much deeper then commonalities like "we both enjoy the same music." Personal chemistry is a longing or drawing to each other based on personalities. This is often mystical to people because they might not know what it is about that person but they just seem so cool. This type of chemistry is often confused for attraction because of its mystical nature. There is no doubt that mystery cause of attraction and often times the root of the mystery is that people do not understand that they have personal chemistry and that have developed feelings of attraction.

Attraction can be created by chemistry but chemistry can never be created by attraction because chemistry is revealed and attraction is created.

Sexual chemistry is a draw to each other sexually. Sexual chemistry is more than just a want for your partner; it is a compatibility with each other's fantasies. If oral sex is important to you but she does not want to perform it much and is really not into it when she does then you do not have sexual chemistry. Sexual chemistry is all about your sexual preferences being in alignment with each other, not sacrificing either person's fetishes but embracing them because they ARE your own. If you feel like you had a better sex life with another partner it does not bode well for your sexual chemistry.

You can have one type of chemistry and not another and often this is the case. People can have all the personal chemistry in the world but if attraction is not created then you become best friends. Furthermore, you can have all the sexual chemistry in the world but if you do not have personal chemistry then chances are you will be friends with benefits.

Finally, remember that chemistry is something reveled. If you find someone who you have personal and sexual chemistry with than that is a rare gift and something worth perusing. Finding that person starts with being honest with who you are and what you want. If you do not know who you are then you can not develop personal chemistry with another person. If you do not know what you want in the bedroom then you are going to miss out on sexual chemistry. At the core of these chemistry lies one solid fundamental that once you control will help revel the chemistry that may be in the other person.

That fundamental is self confidence.

If you have the self confidence to communicate clearly who you are and what you want out of sex then you open yourself up to finding a chemistry that has the potential to explode.

Chords are a combination of three notes on the keyboard. When struck down at the same time, they sound great!

Chords are the root and base of all music, and learning chords as a beginner is the perfect place to start, as you will take this knowledge with you as you develop as a keyboard player, and be able to adapt them and play them in various different ways, including using them as a melody line, or bulking out the bass, or playing them in a style which would allow a singer in a band to accompany you.

You have two common chord types in Music. One is called a Major chord, and the other is called a Minor Chord.

An easy way to differentiate between the chords is that Major chords are described as happy sounding chords and Minor chords are described as sad sounding chords.

When the two are combined they create great music. Many pop, rock and classical songs are based on major and minor chords.

For example using just three major chords such as C Major F Major and G Major will create a 12 bar blues. Artists such as Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis have used this in their songs.

You can write a classic pop and rock song using a small selection of chords, and many artists have done so and created some classic hits by working their songs out on just chords. Once they have the pattern they expand and add to this to create a brilliant song.

An easy formula to remember to work out any major or minor chord is to do the following –

MAJOR CHORDS – R + 4 + 3.

MINOR CHORDS – R + 3 + 4

R stands for your root note, so the note of the chord you are working out. Then you will climb four or three steps depending on if you are working out a Major or Minor chord, then a further four or three steps once again depending on which chord you would be working out.

Some common Major chords to practice as a beginner are: –

D MAJOR – The notes in this are D F# A.

A MAJOR – The notes in this are A C# E.

G MAJOR – The notes in this are G B D.

Some common Minor chords to practice as a beginner are: –

D MINOR – The notes in this are D F A

A MINOR – The notes in this are A C E

G MINOR – The notes in this are G Bb D

Suggested fingering to use when playing any chords are: –

Right hand – 1 is your thumb 3 5 – being your little finger.

Left hand – 5 is your little finger 3 1 being your thumb.

Alternative fingering you could use is: –

Right hand – 1 2 4

Left hand – 5 2 1

Remember this might feel a bit abnormal to start with but once you get use to how it feels it will become natural to you.

Another thing to consider when learning chords is that you can invert them and swap the order around in which you play the chords.

This can be used for a couple of reasons including making the transitions smoother between chords, and the gap between them closer.

Another is to change the tone and sound of the chord. Have a go yourself and you will hear the difference.

It can take many years of practice to reach the standard to be able play your own one hour song repertoire on piano or keyboard.

Early childhood caries also known as (Nursing bottle caries, Baby bottle tooth decay, Nursing bottle syndrome or milk bottle syndrome)

Early childhood dental caries is a form of dental decay in infants, toddlers (A toddler is a child between the ages of one and three) and preschool (A child of 3 or 4 is considered a preschooler) children. It can occur as a result of unusual dietary habits. It was recognized that infants who use a nursing bottle containing milk or juice as a pacifier or those who breastfed on demand at times other than normal feeding and throughout evening often develop early multiple dental caries lesions.

While sleeping flow of saliva is less than usual and swallowing reflex is absent, so milk remains in the oral cavity and pools around the tooth surfaces. Microorganisms which cause dental caries make use of this environment and result in tooth decay. All this process occurs very fast.

Reasons of milk bottle syndrome;

1. Feeding beyond the weaning age, that is beyond 12-15 months.

2. Feeding at night, especially if teeth are not cleaned after feeding.

3. Child neglect in single parent household as the parents are too busy with their responsibilities.

4. Immuno-compromised children are at higher risk due to decreased salivary flow.

5. Children with sleep disorders are also found to be affected by nursing bottle caries.

6. Some mothers avoid breast feeding; children are left at the mercy of hired help, who think it is their duty to continuously force a bottle into child’s mouth.

7. When both the parents are working, they leave the children to be cared by young siblings and resultant neglect leads to tooth decay.

Mother’s milk is a blessing not a bane “milk is not the culprit, it is the improper feeding habit.”

How to prevent ECC (Early Childhood Caries)??

1. It is important that the mother gets the proper nutrition, stays in good health and avoid medications which are either harmful to her or the baby’s teeth. Highly significant effects on dental caries of infants have also been related to pregnancy complications such as instrument delivery or C-section.

2. Infants shouldn’t be put to sleep with a bottle.

3. Parents should encourage infants to drink from cup as they approach their first birthday.

4. Consumption of juices, use of pacifiers must be avoided.

5. Oral hygiene should be implemented by the time of eruption of first primary tooth.

What is the Treatment??

Visit your dentist for proper diagnosis and treatment of this condition. Your dentist may perform restorative procedures for small cavities, other pulpal treatments include indirect pulp capping, direct pulp capping, pulpotomy and pulpectomy.

We all want a bright white smile. It is just a matter of how much you are willing to spend and what you are willing to do to get one. Some things are better left to the professionals to take care of and others can be treated at home. I have struggled with yellow teeth because I love red wine and grape juice. We are going to examine the pros and cons of the various whitening treatments available to you to obtain those pearly whites.

In-office tooth whitening is performed by a professional – either a dentist or a dental hygienist. It is the most effective method because the color change is the most dramatic in a relatively short amount of time. Your teeth are covered in a high concentration of peroxide gel and the gums are protected with a paint-on rubber dam. The peroxide remains on the teeth for 15-20 minute intervals equaling up to an hour. If you have extremely stubborn stains, you may have to go back for a second visit or follow up with home treatments immediately after. This service is of course the most expensive. – I have seen it for as little as $399 to about $650. The risks are gum irritation and sensitivity to temperature, pressure and touch especially if you have a receding gum line or cracks.

You can also get a professionally made take home kit that contains a lower concentration of gel which stays on teeth for an hour or more (sometimes overnight). These custom made trays look like mouth guards and they cost any where between $100 and $400. Over the counter strips, trays, or pens/brushes are the least expensive and most time consuming option. I have tried one particular brand of these and I had trouble with the bottom strip – it wouldn’t stick to the bottom of my teeth. I actually called the company and told them I was having technical difficulties and they gave me some suggestions such as making sure my teeth were completely dry. They also sent me a complimentary package for my troubles. Honestly, I just don’t have the patience to apply them and sit there and wait for them to do the job. Another problem with the strips is that they only whiten the front teeth as opposed to the trays that whiten all of the teeth.

I have also tried one brand of a brightening pen that you are suppose to brush on your teeth and not drink anything for a half an hour, but that didn’t work. When I called the company, they told me that the purpose of the pens is to simply maintain your bright smile after getting a professional in office whitening treatment. Their company website did not imply that, nor did their online advertisements. To keep your white smile from turning yellow, try to drink darker colored beverages with a straw and practice proper oral hygiene.

It is necessary for you to take quick action

Tooth aches can be extremely horrible for the sufferer and it can get really complicated to try to deal with such pain. But, this can be taken care of if you deal with the situation quickly as by doing so, it might be possible for you to save a tooth that is in danger.

Do not try to take out a tooth all by yourself or with the help of someone, if you find that your tooth has come out partially. You must get a good hold of the tooth and gently and firmly hold it down in the socket and then you must quickly go and visit the dentist.

Dental procedures if you find your tooth has fallen and more

But, if you find that your tooth has completely fallen out, then you have to immediately rinse it as well as you possibly can and then you must keep it in a safe place. After that, go to your dentist, taking the fallen tooth along with you.

If you suddenly and accidently find that you have bitten your tongue then you must at once take a cloth that is totally clean. With the help of this clean cloth, you then put pressure on the area that is bleeding. If you find that you have a lip that has suddenly swollen, then you can take care of this by applying cold compresses. In the event that you are boring from these issues or anything similar and the bleeding is just not stopping, then it is very important that you go to a dental hospital without any further delay.

Problems with retainers and braces call for you to adhere to the right dental procedures

A very major emergency could also arise as a result of wearing retainers or braces. If you find that there is some kind of an irritation that is being caused and a wire is the reason behind it, you need to take a small cotton ball and put it on the end of the wire in such a way that the end is totally covered with the cotton. You must keep this until the time you reach the dentist.

If you find that there is a wire that has got stuck in your tongue, cheek or even the tissue of your gum, never ever try to take it out by yourself or with the help of someone. You must at once go to see your dentist. At all times, make sure you have the number of your dentist with you; you never know when you are going to need it. Follow these dental procedures and you will have peace of mind, knowing that your dental problems will be well taken care of, whenever they arise.

If there are any questions on the proper care you should call your dentist for professional advice.
